Is Oxford University and AstraZeneca cheating with its Covid-19 vaccine?
UK has a poor reputation when it comes to drugs and the handling of diseases. Here's just one example:

Klevius has already earler warned about the risks with tampering with
RNA code instead of doing as the Chinese Sinovac, i.e. using safe dead

In short, Peter Klevius points to the fact that there's no way Oxford University/AstraZeneca can claim it was just placebo.
Brazilian
newspaper Globo and international news agency Bloomberg said he was in
the control group and had received a placebo rather than the test
vaccine, citing sources close to the trials.
“Following
careful assessment of this case in Brazil, there have been no concerns
about safety of the clinical trial, and the independent review in
addition to the Brazilian regulator have recommended that the trial
should continue,” Oxford said in a statement.
AstraZeneca
said medical confidentiality meant it could not give details on any
individual volunteer, but that independent review had “not led to any
concerns about continuation of the ongoing study”.
Brazil’s national health regulator, Anvisa, confirmed it had been notified of the case on October 19.
The
D’Or Teaching and Research Institute (IDOR), which is helping organise
the tests in Brazil, said the independent review had “raised no doubts
about the safety of the study, and recommended it continue”.
Oxford
and AstraZeneca previously had to suspend testing of the vaccine in
September when a volunteer in Britain developed an unexplained illness.
Trials resumed after British regulators and an "independent" review concluded the illness was not a side effect of the vaccine.
Half
the volunteers in the final-stage clinical trial – a double-blind,
randomised, controlled study – receive a placebo, IDOR said. Around
8,000 volunteers have been vaccinated so far in Brazil, and more than
20,000 worldwide, it said.
Study participants must be doctors, nurses or other health sector workers who come into regular contact with the virus.
The
deceased volunteer was a young doctor who had been treating Covid-19
patients since March in the emergency rooms and intensive care units at
two hospitals in Rio de Janeiro, Globo said. He graduated from medical
school last year, and was in good health before contracting the disease,
family and friends told the newspaper.

If you consider/evaluate Peter Klevius as a selfish attention seeker,

heterosexual attraction shade personhood. Here both men and women often

* As a teenager Klevius was forced out

John Searle seems to have a quite different approach to heterosexual attraction and consciousness than Klevius.
In a lawsuit Joanna Ong, 24, is seeking damages for sexual harassment
and assault as well as for wrongful termination and creation of a
hostile work environment.
“As a philosopher, Searle should be familiar with the concept of
coercion. Instead, he and the university have “used their power and
platform to abuse others.”
The lawsuit, which lists Searle and the Regents of the University of
California as defendants, claims Searle groped Ong in his office after
he told her “they were going to be lovers.” He also said he had an
“emotional commitment to making her a public intellectual,” the
complaint states, and that he was “going to love her for a long time.”
Ong turned Searle down and reported him to other UC Berkeley employees,
but they did nothing, the complaint states. Instead, Searle cut Ong’s
salary and she was eventually fired, according to the complaint, which
also claims Searle watched pornography at work and made sexist comments.
Searle, 84, is famous for his work in the philosophy of language and the
philosophy of mind and has taught at UC Berkeley since 1959.
Artificial intelligence (AI), consciousness - and EMAH
Wikipedia: Artificial intelligence (AI) is intelligence exhibited by
machines. In computer science, the field of AI research defines itself
as the study of "intelligent agents": any device that perceives its
environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of success at
some goal
Peter Klevius: A shock absorber fulfills every bit of this
definition - and can be digitally translated, i.e. e.g. "shock absorbed
by wire", either partially or fully!
Wikipedia: As machines become increasingly capable, mental facilities
once thought to require intelligence are removed from the definition.
For instance, optical character recognition is no longer perceived as an
example of "artificial intelligence", having become a routine
technology.
Are there limits to how intelligent machines – or human-machine hybrids –
can be? A superintelligence, hyperintelligence, or superhuman
intelligence is a hypothetical agent that would possess intelligence far
surpassing that of the brightest and most gifted human mind.
‘’Superintelligence’’ may also refer to the form or degree of
intelligence possessed by such an agent.
The philosophical position that John Searle has named "strong AI"
states: "The appropriately programmed computer with the right inputs and
outputs would thereby have a mind in exactly the same sense human
beings have minds." Searle counters this assertion with his Chinese room
argument, which asks us to look inside the computer and try to find
where the "mind" might be.
Searle's thought experiment begins with this hypothetical premise:
suppose that artificial intelligence research has succeeded in
constructing a computer that behaves as if it understands Chinese. It
takes Chinese characters as input and, by following the instructions of a
computer program, produces other Chinese characters, which it presents
as output.
Suppose, says Searle, that this computer performs its task so
convincingly that it comfortably passes the Turing test: it convinces a
human Chinese speaker that the program is itself a live Chinese speaker.
To all of the questions that the person asks, it makes appropriate
responses, such that any Chinese speaker would be convinced that they
are talking to another Chinese-speaking human being.
Searle then supposes that he is in a closed room and has a book with an
English version of the computer program, along with sufficient paper,
pencils, erasers, and filing cabinets. Searle could receive Chinese
characters through a slot in the door, process them according to the
program's instructions, and produce Chinese characters as output. If the
computer had passed the Turing test this way, it follows, says Searle,
that he would do so as well, simply by running the program manually.
Searle asserts that there is no essential difference between the roles
of the computer and himself in the experiment. Each simply follows a
program, step-by-step, producing a behavior which is then interpreted as
demonstrating intelligent conversation. However, Searle would not be
able to understand the conversation. ("I don't speak a word of
Chinese",he points out.) Therefore, he argues, it follows that the
computer would not be able to understand the conversation either.
Searle argues that, without "understanding" (or "intentionality"), we
cannot describe what the machine is doing as "thinking" and, since it
does not think, it does not have a "mind" in anything like the normal
sense of the word. Therefore, he concludes that "strong AI" is false.
Peter Klevius: Nonsense! 'Intentionality' is an illusion. There's
no "gap" between input and output where 'intentionality' could be
squeezed in. Moreover, if Searle believes in 'intentionality' he can't
refute 'the free will' either. The machine could also be understood by
the Chinese speakers without "understanding" - only fulfilling the
Turing criterion. There is no 'understanding' or consciousness', other
than the usage of these terms.
Wikipedia: No one would think of saying, for example, "Having a hand is
just being disposed to certain sorts of behavior such as grasping"
(manual behaviorism), or "Hands can be defined entirely in terms of
their causes and effects" (manual functionalism), or "For a system to
have a hand is just for it to be in a certain computer state with the
right sorts of inputs and outputs" (manual Turing machine
functionalism), or "Saying that a system has hands is just adopting a
certain stance toward it" (the manual stance). (p. 263)
Searle argues that philosophy has been trapped by a false dichotomy:
that, on the one hand, the world consists of nothing but objective
particles in fields of force, but that yet, on the other hand,
consciousness is clearly a subjective first-person experience.
Searle says simply that both are true: consciousness is a real
subjective experience, caused by the physical processes of the brain. (A
view which he suggests might be called biological naturalism.)
Ontological subjectivity
Searle has argued[48] that critics like Daniel Dennett, who (he claims)
insist that discussing subjectivity is unscientific because science
presupposes objectivity, are making a category error. Perhaps the goal
of science is to establish and validate statements which are
epistemically objective, (i.e., whose truth can be discovered and
evaluated by any interested party), but are not necessarily
ontologically objective.
Searle calls any value judgment epistemically subjective. Thus,
"McKinley is prettier than Everest" is "epistemically subjective",
whereas "McKinley is higher than Everest" is "epistemically objective."
In other words, the latter statement is evaluable (in fact, falsifiable)
by an understood ('background') criterion for mountain height, like
'the summit is so many meters above sea level'. No such criteria exist
for prettiness.
Beyond this distinction, Searle thinks there are certain phenomena
(including all conscious experiences) that are ontologically subjective,
i.e. can only exist as subjective experience. For example, although it
might be subjective or objective in the epistemic sense, a doctor's note
that a patient suffers from back pain is an ontologically objective
claim: it counts as a medical diagnosis only because the existence of
back pain is "an objective fact of medical science".[49] But the pain
itself is ontologically subjective: it is only experienced by the person
having it.
Searle goes on to affirm that "where consciousness is concerned, the
existence of the appearance is the reality".[50] His view that the
epistemic and ontological senses of objective/subjective are cleanly
separable is crucial to his self-proclaimed biological naturalism.
Klevius: All of this is more or less non sense due to a balancing
act (deliberate or just out of ignorance) to satisfy certain needs and
wishes. To understand this you need to read Klevius and contrast it with
the above:
1 Existence-centrism (Klevius 1992:21-23, ISBN 9173288411), i.e. the
simple fact that there's no difference between 'reality' and 'conscious
experiences'.
2 Klevius EMAH - the Even More Astonishing Hypothesis
which eliminates prejudices about the mind, as well as the naive idea
about "a thoughtful and subjective brain", and therefore opens up for a
human brain that fits the nature it belongs to and from which it
emerged. Moreover, Klevius analysis also opens up for a more truly human
approach to other humans, i.e. that that's what we have in common - and
only we can see it, not a non-human (Klevius 1992:36-39), which fact
doesn't eliminate that we should try to cope with non-humans in a
"humane" way.
The preposterous thought that "we are special" stands on two contradicting pillars:
1 We, out of our existence-centrism (read Klevius' book, Jonathan!),
define what's "outside" - i.e. the foundation for making (usually just
some of) us "special".
A ten billion year old supernova has been discovered. It means it died ten billion years ago, i.e. 5.5 billion years before our Sun was born.

The nearest star, Proxima Centauri, is 4.2 light years from the
Earth. Light travels at a speed corresponding to 7.5 laps around the
Earth in one second.
The light from the farthest objects detectable by Hubble and other
cameras (incl. radio waves etc), i.e. more than 13 billion years ago, marks the end of our capabilities, not
the end of Universe. Because there is no "end" or "beginning". These
terms are oxymorons and semantically absurd.
So next time you take a look at the stars do consider what you don't see.
In my book Demand for Resources (Resursbegär1992:21-22) I pointed
out not only the dangers of such a senseless "model" as "Big Bang" but
also how this "model" is trapped in a "monotheistic" view demanding
"creation", i.e. a "starting point". Not only is such a "starting point"
conceptually impossible (apart from its very obvious other limitations,
e.g. how do you "bang" in "nothing") but it also fatally misdirects
research focus because it assumes "a universe" or "the universe" where
there's only universe.
A time trip back towards the "Big Bang" would only reveal a continuing
growth of neighboring "universes". The space/time continuum and warping
would make the "Big Bang" model laughable.
To my surprise I've noticed how many decently minded people seem to have
great difficulties understanding how the great distances and the great
limitations caused by the speed of light constant, warps every effort to
take even quite small thought steps, say for example only within our
own tiny galaxy.
Cameras never lie - pictures do!
All space cameras, from our own eyes to the Hubble space telescope and
its follow-ups, have in common that they don't take pictures of space
but of themselves, i.e. photo reactions on the retina, CCD etc. These
reactions are then interpreted by our knowledge. However, to describe
such reactions as a picture of space is extremely misleading.
Due to our human shortcomings we tend to entangle us with stupid
concepts which then get a life of their own. These include not only e.g.
irrational numbers but also such peculiarities as 'beginning',
'creation', 'existence', 'god' etc.
There can't be 'the', 'a', 'one' or 'many' in front of universe.
To understand this simple fact you just need to expore it by pinpointing
the histories of light perceptions hitting "your world". Such light
phenomenons may represent a "distance"* of everything from light
traveling at 300,000 km/sec some fractions of a second to Billions of
years. Moreover, some of them may be just side by side and with equal
relative luminance. With this in mind then start it all over again, i.e.
your theoretical mapping of "the Universe".
* If the source has moved or vanished when you perceive its light, then there i no real "distance" to be measured.

In astronomy and cosmology, dark matter is matter that is inferred to
exist from gravitational effects on visible matter and gravitational
lensing of background radiation, but that neither emits nor scatters
light or other electromagnetic radiation (and so cannot be directly
detected via optical or radio astronomy).[1] Its existence was
hypothesized to account for discrepancies between calculations of the
mass of galaxies, clusters of galaxies and the entire universe made
through dynamical and general relativistic means, and calculations based
on the mass of the visible "luminous" matter these objects contain:
stars and the gas and dust of the interstellar and intergalactic medium.
According to observations of structures larger than solar systems, as
well as Big Bang cosmology interpreted under the Friedmann equations and
the FLRW metric, dark matter accounts for 23% of the mass-energy
density of the observable universe. In comparison, ordinary matter
accounts for only 4.6% of the mass-energy density of the observable
universe, with the remainder being attributable to dark energy.[2][3]
From these figures, dark matter constitutes 83%, (23/(23+4.6)), of the
matter in the universe, whereas ordinary matter makes up only 17%.
Dark matter was postulated by Fritz Zwicky in 1934 to account for
evidence of "missing mass" in the orbital velocities of galaxies in
clusters. Subsequently, other observations have indicated the presence
of dark matter in the universe; these observations include the
rotational speeds of galaxies, gravitational lensing of background
objects by galaxy clusters such as the Bullet Cluster, and the
temperature distribution of hot gas in galaxies and clusters of
galaxies.
Dark matter plays a central role in state-of-the-art modeling of
structure formation and galaxy evolution, and has measurable effects on
the anisotropies observed in the cosmic microwave background. All these
lines of evidence suggest that galaxies, clusters of galaxies, and the
universe as a whole contain far more matter than that which interacts
with electromagnetic radiation. The largest part of dark matter, which
does not interact with electromagnetic radiation, is not only "dark" but
also, by definition, utterly transparent.[4]
As important as dark matter is believed to be in the cosmos, direct
evidence of its existence and a concrete understanding of its nature
have remained elusive. Though the theory of dark matter remains the most
widely accepted theory to explain the anomalies in observed galactic
rotation, some alternative theoretical approaches have been developed
which broadly fall into the categories of modified gravitational laws,
and quantum gravitational laws

Several people heard a bang from the side of the ship. Carl Eric Laantee Reintamm, who survived 1994 and is today working as a diplomat, run out from his cabin and saw water flooding on the car deck. When he came up and out on the seventh floor he saw something moving in the water by the side of the ship. It was light and several meters times several meters.
The M/S Estonia September 1994 sinking, in the Baltic Sea between Sweden, Åland, Finland and Estland (Estonia), was one of the worst maritime disasters of the 20th century. It is the second-deadliest peacetime sinking of a European ship, after the RMS Titanic, and the deadliest peacetime shipwreck to have occurred in European waters, with 852 lives lost.
M/S Estonia, was a ferry built in 1979/80 which sailed as Viking Sally 1980–1990 between Finland and Sweden, was capable of moving some 2,000 passengers and some 500 cars.
A former disaster investigator, Margus Kurm, claims that a Swedish submarine had struck the ferry, and the ensuing hole allowed seawater to rapidly enter the lower decks and lead to the Estonia's demise.
Peter Klevius comment: The M/S Estonia catastrophe occurred on the first day of a 10-day NATO naval exercise called Cooperative Venture 94. Although, Sweden doesn't belong to NATO officially, inofficially it does.
M/S Estonia's bog visor (55 tons) broke loose during the catastrophe and has, together with stormy weather, been the official explanation. However, Peter Klevius thinks the impact in the side may have caused the locks to get slightly loose and then due to the repeated diving into four meter or more waves, the locks eventually cracked. This may also explain why the rear of the ship sunk first.
This timeline shows the speed of the sinking as well as the fact that the rear of the ship went down first, contrary to what one would have expected if it was only the bow visor. A simulation suggests the disaster started already 01:00.
This
type of fin was activated and out on the left side but not on the right
side of the ship - meaning its function was already destroyed when
activated.
