Peter Klevius Covid-19 tutorial: Be careful with your saliva!

Peter Klevius advice from 1992: Don't clean yourself to illness or even death!

In my 1992 book Demand for Resources I warned for modern over-hygiene (over reaction caused by the discovery of certain pathogenes) causing allergies and disturbing the immune system. This was made against an analytical background of evolution and studies of hunter/gatherer societies.

COVID tongues and strange mouth ulcers as well as a strong correlation between high SARS-CoV-2 virus levels in saliva and later hospitalization or death can be explained in the same way.

This theory by Peter Klevius predicts a causality* link between a too eager use of tooth paste and mouth wash etc. which disturbs our first line of defense, i.e. saliva. This is also why e.g. open mouth kissing or eating/drinking from the same vessel rarely causes problem. Most of the saliva is identical and where it differs it will just be rejected by respective germ flora.

* Of course the threshold value will vary due to overall health profile.

Do remember where you saw this theory first!
